Approximately 11am – 1.30, Girona Grapevine Coffee Meetings, Every Wednesday, La Farinera Restaurant,

Dear Members and Friends. This is a very important message. It has been decided that the venue for the Grapevine meeting will now be changed. We will no longer meet at Pati Verd, Hotel Carlymany. The meeting will be from approximately 11am – 1.30 at the Restaurant/Cafe, LA FARINERA.
This is because there are many more English speakers who work in this area (El Punt/Escolar Official/Catalonia Today) and they want to come to the meetings but the Carlymany is too far to go. I think the Carlymany was originally chosen because it was non-smoking but now everywhere is. Also, it’s nearer to the bus/train station. They also do very reasonable, good menus and have a very pretty outdoor terrace so we could combine the two sometimes when we do lunches. It would also help me and Peter as it’s nearer to our home and make life a little easier, ensure we can be there more often.
So, if you have any thoughts on this, please let me know. The numbers are down that attend the coffee mornings so in this way we could boost the attendance, which is very important. You can look up the location on Google. It’s behind the wonderfully architecture of the original flower market. Many of us know this place very well and the staff and lovely, efficient and friendly. FYI, we still have our lunch planned at Cafe Migdia on 23 March but if you want to come for coffee earlier then please come to La Farinera.
If you know members that do not have email or monitor them very often, please kindly pass this news on. This way you can meet more people and be generally be assured of a welcome! Anyone who is there will look out for people who come into the restaurant but we try to make ourselves as obvious as possible!

We also sometimes meet for lunch and details will be posted on the blog and we also meet for social events occasionally. We are a group of friends and acquaintances, but we welcome newcomers and established residents who may want to have a chat and exchange information and news from time to time.
Our newsletter: The Girona Grapevine has been established for several years now and we welcome contributions. Please take time to read the back issues, which have many informative pieces from group members. You can use our newsletter for private advertising and for sharing your news and views.
The Blog: If you are interested in contacting other members; or have something to sell/buy or some news, why not use our Blog? This is like a message board for members who have paid a small donation. You can publish to this site, and have immediate access. This is very handy for spreading news etc. amongst the group. Please get into the habit of regularly viewing the Blog (at least once a week). This will keep you up to date with social events and group news.
