Girona Grapevine

Grapeviners, the English Students of the EOI Girona (Escolar Official I’diomas),  U3A, British Society of Catalunya/Emporda and many friends turned out at the end of  April, last month to enjoy a real fun & interesting  morning (plus, we all got a bit of exercise walking around beautiful Girona).  Many of us made new friends and and saw some we had not seen in a while.  We are so pleased to tell everyone that we also raised together 435.00 euros which was donated to the Trueta Hospital.  This was generally agreed to be worthwhile beneficiary.  Many people also kindly brought contributions of rice, oil, pasta and more for which the local charity, Caritas,  were very grateful.  These supplies can be distributed to all the needy in our area.

The efforts of everyone were greatly appreciated.  However, none of this would have been possible without Barbara Leonard.  Barbara organised the event, created all the clues (after much footwork!) and worked so hard  to make the event a success.

Just to say to Barbara and everyone who got involved; give yourselves a big pat on the back, isn’t it wonderful to make just a little difference sometimes?!?

For the foreseeable future, Girona Grapevine will continue to support the Trueta Hospital because the wonderful work of this hospital touches us all who live here in some way. Caritas will also benefit from our very rare and occasional fund raising events.  Any ideas on how we can do more?  Let us know via email!
