Hello everyone
All members should now have received an invitation to join. These were sent by me, Steven, and not Sue. Hope the explanation in the e-mail was clear enough – you either create a post or add a comment to an existing post.
What can posts be? anything! questions, thoughts, requests, announcements, opinions the lot!
cheers
Steven

Dear Group
Hope you will all start to use the Blog and let us get some value from the web site.please check it as often as you can – particularly if you haven’t seen anyone/or been to the Wednesday coffee mornings.
Lesley and Paul have now completed compiling the Autumn newsletter and we have printed 50 copies. These will be in Girona Books and it will shortly be on the web site.
Intersting stories etc. Please help and send in something for next edition.
Sue
Hello everyone,
I had an idea for the website or the newsletter.
Members could explain why they decided to come, work, live or retire at Girona. They might explain their difficulties etc.
and give advice based on their own
experience to the other newcomers.
Please send your opinions.
Thanks Helge
Dear Helge
Good idea about advice for newcomers. Could be a regular spot in the newsletter. What about it Paul and Lesley?
Sue
FOR ALL MEMBERS – BOOKSHOP HAS SECOND HAND BOOKS FOR A CHEAP PRICE AND ONLY NEED TO BRING ONE AT THE MOMENT.
I am trying to urge everyone who is a member to start using the Blog on a regular basis and to view it to keep up to date with what is going on.
Wonderful litle exhibition at Caixa de Girona salon near Santa Susanna square on at moment till 5th of January about Girona in 20s and 30s and the way culture and leisure was celebrated i.e Fires of long ago – the old film very interesting
Helge’s ideas (about advice and help as well as sharing experiences) – maybe need a regular newsletter spot?Maybe in the form of Question and Answer session.
eg How do you rent a flat in Girona?
Well our experience was very fortunate. We used an agency that was very good Vivenda i Confort near the station. We both rented a flat through them and also bought a property and later a parking space without a problem. They do a very full service even to helping with the electric and water connections.
Look forward to others asking and answering questions on this blog.
Sue, Helge and everyone,
I would urge you to create a new post when introducing new content (e.g. exhibition, idea for website/newsletter content).
That way, the new stuff will be more visible for the rest of the members and will allow a more structured order, rather than having one long thread and comments where its difficult to keep track of the many ideas.
cheers
steven

About GG in Brief
Hello there! We are a group of English speakers (of many different nationalities ) who like to get together from time to time for a chat, to make friends, exchange information and sometimes organise social events.
If you are in Girona on a Wednesday, you could pop into La Farinera café ( Sta Eugènia 42) between roughly 11.00 am—1pm and say hello. There may be a lot of people, but sometimes nobody can make it, although this is generally only the case during holiday times when people are busy with visitors or travelling. We don’t meet in the summer (July and August).
Although we welcome everyone, we have to warn people that we are not a conversation exchange for English learners. Conversation is fast and colloquial and very difficult to follow unless you are a fluent speaker.
